The Olive Room

Olive Hale Knudsen was 11 years old when she first moved into the home when her father, George Hale, first built it in 1880, and remained in the home with her husband and children until 1918. The Olive Room is styled with pastel blue walls and gold accents to represent her bright spirit and cheerful personality. It has been said that Olive and her husband often threw extravagant parties, and were gracious hosts to all who entered the home. The Olive Room has one Queen bed, and a Queen sized pull-out couch in the private living area. There is a private bathroom and fully functional kitchen complete with an oven, microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator.

The Bemis Room

In the mid 1920's, Mary Fitch moved into the home with her 3 kids. Her middle daughter, Bemis Fitch, was extremely spirited and loved to host lavish parties and work in the garden. She resided in the home until the mid 1950's, and made the most of her time here. The Fitch family were pioneers of Tuolumne County, and they're long history of hospitality here stretches all the way back to the late 1800's. The Bemis room is the only room on the first level of the home. The Bemis Room's rich teal walls and ornate antiques resemble a style we feel Bemis would have enjoyed and appreciated. The Bemis Room has a King bed, with pocket doors extending into a large living area complete with a pull-out couch, tv, and fireplace. There is also a private restroom and full personal kitchen complete with an oven, microwave, and coffee maker.

The Magdalene Room

The Magdalene Room is named after the third owner of the house, Magdalene Franklin, who lived in the home from 1958-2002. The Magdalene Rooms style is inspired by Magdalene's time spent as a set designer in Hollywood. The light pink walls, exposed brick, and marble fireplace make the space feel elegant and soft. There are 2 bedrooms and one bathroom, all accessible using the private entrance or common entrance. The main bedroom has a queen bed, a cozy sitting area, a functional kitchenette, and a working fireplace. The back bedroom is smaller and simpler, but is beautifully light and airy.
